    NEFTALY THERAPEUTIC PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT PROGRAMME

    EMERGENCY EXIT PROCEDURE & EVACUATION PLAN


    1. PURPOSE

    The purpose of this Emergency Exit Plan is to ensure the safe and orderly evacuation of all:

    • Clients
    • Staff
    • Visitors
    • Volunteers

    during emergencies such as fire, violence, medical incidents, or natural disasters.


    2. OBJECTIVES

    • Protect life and prevent injury
    • Ensure rapid evacuation
    • Reduce panic during emergencies
    • Provide clear staff responsibilities
    • Maintain compliance with safety regulations

    3. TYPES OF EMERGENCIES COVERED

    ✅ Fire outbreak
    ✅ Gas leak or smoke hazard
    ✅ Building structural risk
    ✅ Violence or security threat
    ✅ Medical emergency
    ✅ Natural disaster
    ✅ Electrical hazard


    4. EMERGENCY EXIT RULES

    All persons must:

    • Remain calm.
    • Stop all activities immediately.
    • Follow staff instructions.
    • Use nearest marked exit.
    • Do NOT run or push.
    • Do NOT use elevators.
    • Proceed to assembly point.

    5. EMERGENCY EXIT ROUTES

    Each Neftaly Programme Site must have:

    • Clearly marked EXIT signs
    • Unlocked emergency doors
    • Obstruction-free pathways
    • Illuminated escape routes

    Exit Route Requirements

    • Minimum two exits where possible
    • Visible directional signage
    • Accessible exit for persons with disabilities

    6. EVACUATION RESPONSIBILITIES

    Programme Manager

    • Overall evacuation command
    • Liaison with emergency services

    Safety Officer / Supervisor

    • Activate evacuation procedure
    • Ensure all rooms cleared

    Staff Members

    • Guide clients safely
    • Assist vulnerable persons
    • Close doors behind when exiting

    Reception / Administrator

    • Carry attendance register
    • Account for visitors

    7. ASSISTING VULNERABLE PERSONS

    Priority evacuation must be given to:

    • Children
    • Elderly persons
    • Persons with disabilities
    • Trauma-affected clients
    • Injured individuals

    Assigned staff must assist them to safety.


    8. ASSEMBLY POINT
