Formal Complaint: Unpaid Salary, Lack of Contract, and Outstanding Certificates
Good morning Mme Tsakani,
I am writing this message to formally raise my concerns regarding my employment at Diepsloot Youth Project (DYP) and Neftaly.
Since January, I have been reporting to work every day from around 08:30 until 17:00, working approximately 10 hours per day. I have been working at Diepsloot Youth Project and also assisting with Neftaly website online courses. However, despite the work completed, I have not received any salary.
In addition, the online courses that were completed do not have certificates to show proof of the work done. I also do not have a valid employment contract. Previously, I was on a learnership under MICT SETA, which ended after three months, and I completed all assessments. To date, I have still not received my MICT SETA certificate.
You mentioned that you do not want to work with people who do not communicate, yet despite giving me work every day, there has been no communication regarding my salary or payment. If the company is experiencing financial difficulties, I would understand if this was communicated to me openly.
At this point, I am not asking for anything extra. I am simply requesting payment for the work I have already done. I expect my outstanding payment to be resolved this week.
If this matter is not resolved, I will have no choice but to seek assistance from the CCMA and the police station. I will also escalate the matter to relevant authorities, including the Department of Social Development (DSD). This situation reflects a serious challenge faced by many young people, where their time and effort are used without fair compensation.
I hope this matter can be resolved amicably through proper communication and immediate action.
