Apologies:
Clifford Lesiba Legodi – Neftaly Chief Operations Royal.
He does not know the exact number of students.
He does not conduct proper follow-ups after submitting challenges.
He requires assistance and support with his responsibilities.
Performance has been poor, and links on the Motapina reports are not opening properly.
It was also reported that Itumeleng and Linda have resigned, which has increased the workload and operational pressure.
Contributions and Recommendations
Ralepelle suggested that psychological support or counselling should be considered, as there may be underlying personal challenges affecting performance, including possible family or financial problems.
Ralepelle also recommended Mme Mobueng for support and assistance.
Tsakani stated that this is an internal matter that should first be addressed within the organisation before involving external professionals. Tsakani further recommended that the Royal Committee provide assistance and intervention.
Mputla indicated that Motapina may be overworked, which could be contributing to the underperformance.
Medupe recommended that a student assistant could be appointed to help Motapina with some responsibilities.
Mamabolo supported the recommendations and concerns raised by Ralepelle.
Ndlovu stated that he is willing to assist by speaking with Motapina and also agreed that additional assistance is needed.
Magoro also supported the view that Motapina requires someone to assist him with his duties.
Mputla further highlighted that graduation season is approaching and certificates are urgently needed, making it important to resolve the current challenges quickly.
Motapina was advised to resend the ticket regarding the challenges experienced so that the matter can be properly attended to and resolved.
DISCUSSION BETWEEN MOTAPINA AND JANE NDLOVU
A discussion was held between Motapina and Jane Ndlovu regarding work performance, reporting, and operational challenges.
It was noted that Motapina performs his duties diligently and professionally. He has successfully submitted reports up to 27 May, demonstrating commitment and consistency in his responsibilities. The main challenges affecting his performance are related to system and internet connectivity issues, which continue to impact workflow and reporting processes.
Additional challenges discussed included:
Slow learners within the programme.
Some learners dropping out.
Some learners losing interest and participation.
Most of these challenges arise when resources are delayed or unavailable.
Jane Ndlovu further highlighted that Motapina remains focused, committed, and professional in carrying out his work. It was also mentioned that if there is any doubt regarding his dedication and contribution, management should consider observing the impact should he be left without classes, as this would clearly demonstrate that his role and support are needed within the programme.
Resolutions
Continued support should be provided to Motapina to ensure smooth facilitation of classes.
Assistance should be provided to improve system and internet-related challenges.
Resources should be made available on time to avoid learner dropouts and disengagement.
Management should acknowledge and support Motapina’s professionalism, focus, and commitment to his work.
Resolution of the Royal Committee
After deliberations, the Royal Committee resolved the following:
That Motapina be given support and assistance to improve performance and manage workload effectively.
That internal intervention and support mechanisms be prioritised before seeking professional external assistance.
That a suitable assistant or support person be identified to help Motapina with operational duties and student-related matters.
That follow-up and reporting processes be strengthened to improve accountability and communication.
That Motapina resend the unresolved ticket and ensure proper reporting of all technical challenges experienced.
That the Royal Committee continue monitoring the matter and provide further assistance where necessary.
For Motapina to perform need to make sure that our systems are functioning as expected.
